Across Andrew’s Desk — Observations from the Front Lines (Vol. IV)
Abstract:
Back at the desk after the fireworks — and the signal-to-noise ratio is as strange as ever.
Here’s what’s been front of mind this week:
Short-term caution flags: extreme greed readings, low put/call ratios, and fresh rumors about Powell’s seat at the Fed
And, the same smart question from entrepreneurial advisors: How do we keep evolving when the industry narrative keeps changing overnight?
No predictions. Just what’s on my desk right now.
Andrew Morris — Personal Shift
This short week has been full of good conversations.
More entrepreneurial financial professionals — the ones who care about building something durable — are reaching out asking: “What does the next version of our stack look like?”
The reality?
The traditional planning stack isn’t going away — but is it not enough on its own?
That’s why I Founded “RIA Access” :
To help RIAs and independent professionals learn how to explore & plug in institutional relationships, education, and a real family office layer — without selling equity, merging into a roll-up, or losing control.
Andrew’s Observations from — The Advisory World
Here’s the pattern I keep hearing:
“Our clients are more informed than ever — so what actually sets us apart?”
The firms doing it right aren’t chasing shiny tactics — they’re quietly upgrading the fundamentals:
Building access to institutional-level solutions
Connecting the planning stack to real tax and legal overlays
Standing up a true family office division, not just a marketing tagline
And they’re not doing it alone. They’re learning how other elite firms do it, adapting it to fit, and staying independent.
Andrew’s Observations from — The Traditional Market
Post–holiday flows have been interesting:
$SPX is up ~24% in 13 weeks — only happened a handful of times in 30 years (1997, 1999, 2009, 2020).
The sentiment tape is flashing greed — low put/call ratios, short-term reversals creeping up in the usual spots.
New noise about Treasury Secretary Bessent floating the idea of replacing Powell — not in the tape yet, but watch it.
This isn’t a top call — but it’s a reminder:
Market structure + sentiment + policy risk = when it flips, it flips fast.
“NOT FINANCIAL ADVICE”
Why I’m Writing This Series
Every conversation, every headline, every bit of tape feeds back into one question: What does this mean for the way real professionals build and protect what they’re building?
That’s why I log it here — so you can see it, too.
Closing Thought
If you’re an RIA leader or entrepreneurial advisor thinking about how to expand your platform — or just want to see how other top firms are tackling these same questions — I’m here to trade notes.
